Rupert qualified with his owner/jockey, Charlotte Brewster at the BSPS Championships for Olympia. This is Charlotte’s qualifying story…
“After placing 7th at his first HOYS, the following week Rupert had spent a week in the field whilst I returned to concentrating on my Law Degree. We headed off to the Heritage Champs with the aim of getting in a couple of working hunter rounds. On the Saturday he had clear rounds in his worker classes and qualified for the Blue Riband Final the next day. Come Sunday morning it was throwing it down with rain and we were debating going home! Luckily the rain cleared up and we took part in the Olympia Section C class. Judge David Puttock asked for a more complicated show which we were able to perform very well, perhaps due to our Dressage experience. Once the judging finished, we were shocked to hear our name called forward in first place by unanimous decision and a lead of 4 marks. To say we were shocked and delighted is an understatement; I have never ridden at Olympia myself, although we own another previous section C Olympia Finalist. Rupert is truly a one in a million pony and a true all rounder, which makes him a delight to own and compete. Having owned him since he was unbroken, it is a great personal achievement for us. We are all looking forward to our first trip to Olympia at Christmas.”
NPSW would like to wish Charlotte and Rupert the best of luck at Olympia.
